Manchester University photography and Research Beacons post production
"Andrew has a great talent for making the unbelievable look believable. The work he did compositing our Research Beacons image together is a great example of this. He was able to take our creative brief and make it happen with spectacular results."
David Gennard - Film and Imagery coordinator - University of Manchester
Three seasons of photography with the BBC Philharmonic
"We have worked with Andrew over many years and as soon as we got the brief from the BBC Philharmonic we knew he was the perfect collaborator. Together we brought to life the orchestra’s concerts for three years, with Andrew creating an incredible, custom piece of digital art for every concert. His ability to imagine and bring to life a whole new world in response to the music made the project a huge success and, equally important, he’s an absolute pleasure to work with."
Ruth Watson - Studio Director - Raw
Artist collaboration with David Ogle
"I was initially drawn to collaborate with Andrew by the quality and distinctive sensibilities evidenced in his Landscape works. Andrew’s expertise became formative within the project, proposing methods and approaches for documenting these ephemeral works that were beyond my realm of experience and pushing the resulting outcomes (in photography and video) in ways that exceeded my early objectives.
Whilst working on-location, Andrew’s partnership allowed for a level of assuredness in the results of each shoot (through his communication and attention to detail, establishing the ambitions of every outcome); enabling me to focus on the production of each work and allowing a level of spontaneous experimentation. In what became an organic working relationship, we were able to become responsive to each new site, capturing unique moments out in remote places and forming these into a successful body of work."

Art exhibitions and festival commissions
"We’ve worked with Andrew Brooks since 2008 on a wide variety of projects where we’ve found ways for him explore British and European cities, including tunnelling beneath Manchester, climbing to the top of St Giles’ Cathedral in Edinburgh, and flying over an active volcano in Iceland. His adaptability, creativity and professionalism have allowed us to create some outstanding projects together where his images, created in some of the most challenging circumstances have captured the imagination of thousands."
Andy Brydon - Director - Curated Place
Lead images for Design Manchester festival
"Like the city we inhabit, Design Manchester has grown over a rapid rate in the last six years. With this growth our visual identity has become paramount alongside our message of a ‘Design City'
Andrew knows not only every bit of our city but always finds the abstract parts, overgrown or forgotten and not just in Manchester but in other cities around the world. This approach always presents the familiar in an unfamiliar way, sometimes hyper-real with incredible clarity asking questions of what is real and encouraging discovery in the details.
For two years running we have enjoyed a fruitful creative relationship driving the image and message of our organisation, of cities and the people that inhabit them and how they shape their environment."
John Owens - Joint artistic director - Design Manchester
Working with the Manchester Art Gallery photographing people engaging with artworks and events
"Andrew has worked with Manchester Art Gallery over the past five years providing images for use across our website, social media and print marketing. His photographs are a key part of our communications and he's been an instrumental player in transforming our recently refreshed brand guidelines from the page into practice. Andrew brings a relaxed professionalism to his work for us, able to pick up on our requirements with minimum guidance and is comfortable working with staff and visitors across the board. We definitely see him as an asset!"

Food, product and people photography for The Flava People
"We've worked with Andrew for several years now across several of our brands. People really do buy with their eyes and as a food business in an incredibly competitive industry it's essential that our imagery is both highly appetising and says something genuinely different about our brands. Andrew has been key in helping us to shoot & edit images that do justice to our products & help significantly in ensuring our brands stand out in a crowded market."
Scott Dixon - Director - The Flava People & Blend Bros
Music studio photography for the new RAK website
"Andrew's photos have been the bases for our entire website for a number of years now. Studio websites can often be stark, soulless and technical info heavy kinds of places, working with Andrew and web designers Retrofuzz the largest part of the mission was to capture the look and spirit of an historic studio to create a warm inviting visual representation bringing you into the building before you even get here so to speak, which is what has been achieved. We couldn't be more happy with the role it has played in satisfying the needs of the wide range of clients that end up coming to RAK."
Andy Leese - General Manager - RAK Studios
Interior and exterior photography of Manchester Central Convention Complex and the Manchester Town Hall
“I’ve been a fan of Andrew’s work for some time and knew he’d be able to capture our venue in a really interesting way; showcasing its size whilst highlighting some of the smaller, intricate features which make it the iconic, characterful building it is. The images feature heavily across our online and offline marketing activities and really do help us stand out from our competitors!”
Louise Day - Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications - Manchester Central
